Uzbekistan and Israel Discuss Cooperation in the Mining Sector

The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan held a meeting on September 17, 2026, with a delegation consisting of representatives from companies in Germany and Austria, according to the ministry's statement.

The main topic of discussion was the prospects for expanding investment cooperation and implementing joint projects in various fields. These fields include information and communication technologies, construction material production, agriculture, tourism, education, urban development, and mechanical engineering.

Representatives of foreign firms presented their proposals for developing interaction in Uzbekistan and exchanged views on opportunities for joint investment initiatives.

The delegation members were provided with information about the socio-economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, measures aimed at improving the investment climate, as well as the advantages and benefits available to foreign investors, including business conditions and opportunities to enter regional markets.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to develop promising project proposals, study the possibilities of their implementation in Uzbekistan, and continue regular dialogue in this area.

The Ministry of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan reported that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held discussions on prospects for further interaction in the field of geology. The discussed areas include the digitalization of the sector, mineral processing, and the development of rare earth metal production.

Discussions in Tashkent

Delegations from the two countries met in Tashkent on September 13 as part of the GEOMIN-2026 event. Uzbekistan was represented by First Deputy Minister Feruza Khamidova and Deputy Minister Rustam Yusupov, while Kazakhstan was represented by Deputy Minister of Industry and Construction Iran Sharkhan.

During the negotiations, the parties examined opportunities to deepen their long-standing cooperation in the geological sphere. Special attention was paid to digitalization processes, deep processing of mineral resources, the production of rare and rare earth metals, and the expansion of investment partnership.

The Kazakh delegation noted the high level of organization of the international round table on geological services, which took place within the framework of GEOMIN-2026, as well as its practical significance. After the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue joint work in promising areas of geological development.

The Minister of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan, B. Islamov, held a meeting on September 9 with a German delegation led by Klaus Mangold, Chairman of Mangold Consulting GmbH. Responsible officials from the ministry also participated in the negotiations.

During the meeting, representatives of the Uzbek metallurgical and technological metallurgical plant presented an overview of the enterprise's activities, its current production capabilities, as well as ongoing work on the development and processing of strategic mineral resources.

Afterward, representatives of Mercedes-Benz AG presented a report titled 'Dialogue on Raw Resources of Uzbekistan and Germany.' Participants discussed prospects for industrial cooperation, Uzbekistan's potential in minerals and raw materials, and opportunities for implementing joint projects.

Particular attention was paid to expanding technological and investment cooperation between the parties. At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue developing cooperation in the field of mineral extraction and strategic raw materials. They also agreed to jointly study promising areas and maintain dialogue.
