The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Alisher Shukurov, held a meeting with Yildiraim Gencher, President of the Economic Cooperation Association in the Seed Sector (ECOSA), according to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.
The parties discussed the need to develop joint work in the field of seed production, expand the use of high-quality and high-yield seeds, implement modern technologies, and strengthen experience exchange within ECOSA.
Participants also exchanged views on the prospects of increasing Uzbekistan's potential in seed production, expanding practical ties with ECOSA member states, and developing the exchange of advanced methods and technologies.
Preparations for the 9th ECOSA Summit
One of the central topics of the negotiations was the preparation for the 9th ECOSA Summit, which is scheduled for October 27–28 of this year. In particular, participants put forward proposals for organizing the summit, the participation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan in the event, and the discussion of current issues in the seed production sector.
The parties considered the organization of the summit an important platform for strengthening international cooperation in seed production, expanding direct contacts between industry representatives, and promoting new initiatives.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation in the framework of preparing for the 9th ECOSA Summit, developing mutually beneficial directions in seed production, and working on coordinated initiatives.
