Libya Resumes Direct Flights to France After 15-Year Hiatus

The Libyan airline MedSky reinstated direct flights between Libya and France on Thursday, which had been suspended for over 15 years. A new route has been launched connecting Tripoli, Paris, and Benghazi.

The first flight departed on Thursday morning from Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli and arrived at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport around noon. It then continued to the Benghazi International Airport early that day, according to MedSky and the Libyan News Agency (LANA).

This new service provides direct air connectivity between France and Libya, linking Paris with Tripoli and Benghazi. MedSky specified that direct flights between the two countries had been suspended for more than fifteen years before this route's relaunch.

Earlier this month, the French Embassy in Libya welcomed the planned resumption of direct flights, calling it a step towards strengthening ties between the two nations and facilitating travel for passengers.
