A ceremony was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi province in eastern China, for the opening of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum on Traditional Medicine, which is scheduled for 2026. This event opens up new opportunities for international interaction and the growth of traditional medicine.
Guo Lanping, Dean of the Institute of Chinese Materia Medica of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, stated at the forum that SCO countries are capable of exchanging knowledge and technologies related to the research, production, preservation, and use of traditional medicinal resources through scientific cooperation, talent exchange, educational programs, and other forms of interaction.
According to Guo, such cooperation will enhance regional capabilities for the coordinated development of traditional medicinal resources while promoting their protection and use in all SCO member countries.
