Beach Park, located on the coast of Aquiraz, 30 km from Fortaleza, transcends the definition of a simple water park. This imposing complex covers over 200,000 m² and integrates various grand structures, including resorts capable of accommodating over 2,000 people, attractions that challenge the usual scale of a water park, as well as a vast area of shops and restaurants resembling a large shopping center. All of this is situated by the sea, on Porto das Dunas beach. The recognition of the location's quality is evident, as Beach Park has won the Best Travel and Tourism award in the water park category six times.
The venture began in 1985 when it operated as a beach bar. The debut of the first rides occurred in 1989, accompanied by the Caminho das Garrafas (Path of Bottles), a route composed of hundreds of semi-buried bottles with the base facing up. Growth accelerated during the 1990s with the opening of the Suites resort in 1996, which offered 175 accommodations. The following year, Insano was inaugurated and achieved the title of the world's tallest slide, reaching 41 meters high by the end of the decade. The turn of the millennium brought Maremoto, a wave pool with a capacity for 2,000 people. Since then, the complex has received three more resorts and an additional series of attractions.
There is a new attraction inaugurated every two years at the park. In 2025, Arvorar, a space dedicated to bird conservation, was launched, with a separate ticket and accessible via free vans connected to the complex, in addition to Surreal, recognized by the Guinness Book as the world's largest water roller coaster. For 2026, the new luxury resort Ohani is scheduled to begin operations by the end of the year.
Vila Azul do Mar
In terms of gastronomy, Vila Azul do Mar, a commercial complex inspired by Ceará villages, offers various dining options, such as pizzerias and snack bars, including Milky Moo and Cafeteria Santa Clara. It is noticeable that Beach Park is much more comprehensive than just a Water Park, which houses slides and other rides. Tickets have differentiated prices: the small one costs R$ 35 and the large one, R$ 70. Additionally, a deposit of R$ 25 is required, which is refunded upon exit if the key is not lost. Upon entering the Aqua Park, the most radical rides immediately catch the eye.
The first attraction visited was Surreal, with its 28-meter height, generating apprehension from the first steps. The experience is done in pairs on a float, with the heavier person positioned behind and the lighter person in front. During the initial drop, the ride covers 340 meters at approximately 40 km/h on an inflatable, passing through colored tubes until reaching a pool, providing an intense feeling of relief.
Next was Vaikuntudo, a funnel-shaped slide with a height of 25 meters. The descent occurs on a float that supports up to four people; the author used the ride in a trio, which helped distribute the weight. The course includes a dark tunnel that culminates in a colossal funnel with an 18.5-meter opening, simulating being thrown by a strong rush of water, ending in a slide leading to a pool.
Beside it, Tobomusik, known as the 'Alok's slide', combines water and music, extending over 114 meters with speakers installed along the entire length. The author experienced the ride, which has a colorful interior and dynamic curves set to electro-hits, finishing the descent with a mat that collides with the water.
With adrenaline high, Insano was faced, a giant with a 41-meter freefall. The atmosphere of the attraction contributes to the feeling of fear, with speakers playing a deep narration with provocations and heavy rock music in the background. After the descent, the body detaches from the slide for a few moments, resulting in an intense experience.
For a moment of tranquility after the sequence of emotions, Correnteza, an artificial river that runs through a large part of the park, served to relax. Adults enjoy the late afternoon breeze on floats, while children play against the current with inflatable floats.
For those seeking more excitement, Beach Park offers other radical attractions. Arrepius presents intense descents, highlighting capsule slides where the floor opens before releasing the adventurer for a 90-degree descent. Skate fans can enjoy Kalafrio, with two half-pipe style ramps, and Atlantis, a slide that simulates a staircase, where floats glide at high speed.
Besides the radical slides, the park has attractions dedicated to children. Near the entrance, Aqua Show delights the little ones with a bucket that pours water every three minutes, complemented by sequences of stairs and slides. Right behind it, the Maremoto wave pool, with a maximum depth of 1.80 meters, caters to ages from 8 to 80, receiving waves every 30 minutes, signaled by a siren.
Noah's Ark, decorated with a maritime theme, is a set of gentle slides and water jet rides, ideal for the youngest. Older visitors can move to Treasure Island, which contains a pirate ship and Aquabismo, an eight-meter wide ramp for group sliding. Near these attractions is Aqua Circus, a themed circus playground, covered by two circular tents, filled with slides, water cannons, and interactive toys.
When hunger strikes, there are many food options. The Aqua Park has kiosks with churros, popcorn, popsicles, and drinks, as well as cheeseburger, hot dog, and pizza combos. There are also tents with natural sandwiches, fruit salad, acai, and coconut water. For quieter meals, the Praia Restaurant, which requires leaving the park, serves typical seaside dishes, such as macaxeira in earth butter, breaded shrimp, moquecas, and fish dishes.
The author recommends Caranguejo Beach Park, mentioning that it was the first time they tasted the crustacean in that way, using a hammer to break the shell, with the help of Ceará colleagues. For those seeking more sophistication, Brava Lounge offers a wine list and a menu with snacks and seafood. For relaxation moments, Espaço Cabanas, located on the banks of the wave pool, provides eight chalets equipped with sofa, TV, hammock, mini-fridge, and Wi-Fi, with rentals starting from R$ 980 for up to eight people.
Vila Azul do Mar also functions as a nighttime meeting point, open from 9 am to 10 pm, Thursday to Tuesday, integrating shops, restaurants, and a live music stage. The author visited Pizzaria da Vila, tasting Terra do Sol, which combines sun-dried meat and manioc flour, and confirmed that it is worth it.
During the stay, the author stayed at Suites, the complex's first resort, inaugurated in 1996 and with direct beach access. The suites, which range from 46 to 67 m² and accommodate up to six guests, feature beach house decor. The hotel restaurant offers a complete breakfast from 7:30 am to 10:30 am, à la carte lunch, and buffet dinner from 6:30 pm.
The other resorts present similar structures but with their own characteristics. Acqua, from 2008, offers suites from 25 to 72 m² for up to six people, in addition to sports courts and an infinity pool. Aqualink provides an exclusive current that connects the accommodation to the park, subject to access control. The Oceani unit, from 2012, has a more intimate profile, with suites from 19 to 40 m² for up to four people, and a free shuttle to Vila Azul do Mar every 20 minutes. Wellness, the largest, with over 360 apartments, focuses on large families, featuring Spa by L’Occitane Au Brésil and the Heineken Bar.
