According to data from the Food Safety Committee of Uzbekistan, fifty-seven people were hospitalized in the Uchkuprik district of the Fergana region with symptoms presumably related to food poisoning.
Residents of this district began seeking medical assistance at the district medical association on September 17–18, complaining of weakness, nausea, and diarrhea. By 8:00 PM, all 57 individuals who sought help had been admitted to the hospital.
The initial epidemiological investigation showed that the victims consumed hot dogs, non-burgers, and other dishes at one of the fast-food establishments on Navruzshokh Street in the Uchkuprik district.
Doctors suspect food poisoning in the patients. None of the hospitalized individuals are seriously ill or require intensive care. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing, and the activity of this enterprise has been temporarily suspended in accordance with established legal procedures.
