The institute explained that during the conversation, the student was clarified the situation and informed that this incident would not negatively affect his academic future. After this, the student returned to his hostel room.
Later that evening, the student was found dead in his room. IIT Bombay expressed deep sorrow over the student's death. The institute stated that it is providing necessary support to friends, classmates, faculty, and other people affected by this tragedy.
The institute also announced that relevant authorities are investigating the circumstances of the death. The investigation is currently ongoing.
