The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, inspected the operations of Nukus Insulation Group in the city of Nukus. This company produces modern thermal insulation materials using local basalt raw materials.
This was reported by the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The project is being implemented under the presidential decree of February 9, 2024, concerning additional measures for comprehensive socio-economic development and employment provision in the Karakalpakstan Republic.
Investments in the project amounted to 50 million US dollars. The enterprise has been equipped with modern European equipment, which allows it to produce materials from local resources in accordance with international standards.
The production complex has an annual capacity of 50 thousand tons of thermal insulation materials, and the value of the produced goods is estimated at 300 billion soms. Additionally, the enterprise has created 150 new jobs.
Basalt thermal insulation materials possess fire resistance, provide thermal insulation, and have a long service life. Their use in construction contributes to increasing the energy efficiency of buildings and structures while reducing heating and cooling costs.
The head of state personally inspected the production process and finished products, and also spoke with the enterprise employees. During the visit, the regional governors of the districts within Karakalpakstan reported on the work accomplished.
The President emphasized the need for further expansion of support and efforts to improve conditions in the designated districts. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening ties and industrial cooperation between regions, jointly utilizing available opportunities, and increasing the number of projects aimed at increasing employment and income for the population.
