China leads countries in the number of enterprises with foreign investments in Uzbekistan

According to the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as of September 1, 2026, there are 21,490 enterprises and organizations operating in Uzbekistan that have foreign investment participation.

China holds a leading position, accounting for the largest number of such companies—6,436. Of the total number of enterprises, 4,758 are joint ventures, and 16,732 are enterprises with foreign capital.

Over the past five years, the number of operating enterprises with foreign investment participation in Uzbekistan has increased by 1.7 times. Furthermore, the structure of these companies has undergone significant changes: the share of enterprises with foreign capital has grown from 56.2% to 77.9%.

China tops the ranking of countries by the number of enterprises with foreign participation. As of September 1, 6,436 enterprises with Chinese participation were operating in Uzbekistan. Russia is in second place with 3,589 enterprises, and Turkey is third with 2,365 companies.

Among other countries with a large number of enterprises with foreign investments, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, the United Arab Emirates, and India stand out. Specifically, 1,345 enterprises operate in the country with Kazakh capital, 739 with South Korean capital, and 725 with Afghan capital.

Azerbaijan is represented by 503 enterprises, Tajikistan by 483, the UAE by 464, and India by 446. Thus, ten countries included in this list account for 17,094 enterprises with foreign participation, making Chinese companies the largest group among enterprises linked to foreign capital.
