Seven more minors returned to Uzbekistan from Russia

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, three minor children of Uzbek citizens who were in correctional facilities in the Mordovia and Samara regions of Russia have been returned to Uzbekistan.

These children were located in a children's institution within one of the correctional facilities in Mordovia. Among them were two girls aged four and two and a half years old, as well as a boy aged one year old.

Before the repatriation took place, Uzbek diplomats confirmed the children's citizenship, established the presence of relatives in Uzbekistan, and prepared all necessary documents. The completed materials were submitted to the relevant Russian authorities.

The return of the children was organized by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan. They were accompanied by diplomats and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs dispatched from Uzbekistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan conducts systematic work to return children of Uzbek citizens who are in children's institutions of correctional facilities in Russia.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan reported that three minor children of Uzbek citizens, who were in correctional facilities in Mordovia and Samara regions of Russia, have been returned to Uzbekistan.

This return was facilitated by the Consulate of the General Representation of Uzbekistan in Kazan, according to Dunyo news agency. The process of returning the children was coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in cooperation with relevant authorities of the Russian Federation.

As part of this process, diplomats worked on establishing the children's citizenship, determining if they had close relatives in Uzbekistan, and assessing their living conditions after returning to their homeland. All necessary documents for their repatriation were also prepared.

After all procedures were completed, consulate staff collected the children from orphanages in correctional institutions and handed them over to representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan for transport home.

The Consulate General emphasized that efforts to return Uzbek minors from orphanages in Russian correctional institutions are conducted on a systematic basis.

The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan presented a report stating that 96,415 Uzbek citizens were returned over a ten-day period. These efforts were aimed at assisting citizens who were temporarily working in Russia between August 25 and September 5, 2026.

Of the total number of returnees, 54,885 arrived directly in Uzbekistan, while another 41,530 citizens entered the country via Kazakhstan.

During this time, practical assistance was provided to 5,467 citizens. Responsible ministries and agencies received a total of 6,413 requests, which are being processed around the clock.

Work of Specialists in Russian Regions

As part of the work with citizens, specialists conducted field inspections in seven regions of Russia: Moscow, Tula, Kursk, Kaluga, Ryazan, Oryol, and Voronezh. More than 3,000 citizens were covered during these visits.

One of the areas of activity was assistance with employment. Representatives of relevant bodies held negotiations with 20 large employers, identifying over 2,500 available vacancies.

During the reporting period, 1,669 citizens were returned to Uzbekistan. Of these, 660 arrived by air transport, and 1,009 by bus.

The total number of citizens who received legal support amounted to 2,681. Additionally, certificates for returning to Uzbekistan were issued to 726 people. Employment assistance was provided to 272 citizens, and material aid to 59.

Issues related to unpaid wages were also resolved for 31 individuals, and another form of assistance was provided to 29 citizens.

For prompt problem resolution, the Migration Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other responsible structures accept citizen requests around the clock. The launch of a joint pilot project is planned for October 2026, which will focus on organized recruitment of citizens for work.

Responsible agencies continue to provide legal and labor support to Uzbek citizens abroad, helping people in difficult circumstances who are looking for new jobs, as well as those who wish to return to Uzbekistan.
