A young man was admitted to the Bareli district hospital, bringing a snake with him. Doctors and hospital staff were astonished upon seeing the snake. The young man told the doctor that this specific snake had bitten him. He was identified as Atul, a 36-year-old son of Omprakash, a resident of Ramnagar Gotia in the Bitri Chenpur district.
According to information, the snake was located under a water pump at Atul's house. When he tried to remove the snake, it bit his arm. After his condition worsened, his relatives took him to the district hospital. Atul brought the exact snake that bit him with him.
According to Atul's family, the snake was sitting under the water pump, and when he went to turn on the pump, the snake suddenly bit his arm. Atul brought the snake to the hospital so that doctors could determine the species of the snake and provide him with necessary assistance. After arriving at the hospital, doctors began treatment, and the team of specialists at the district hospital administered an anti-venom serum against snake venom, which led to an improvement in Atul's condition.
During the last 24 hours in Bareli, four cases of snake bites were registered in different areas. In all cases, patients were brought to the district hospital by their relatives due to deteriorating health. The second case occurred in the village of Biria Narayanapur, Subhashnagar district. There, a 60-year-old Bogandan Dei, wife of Jivaram, was bitten by a snake. Her son Lakhan reported that his mother was collecting sawdust from cow dung near the house when the snake bit her arm.
After Bogandan Dei's condition worsened, she was taken to the district hospital for treatment. The third incident took place in Mohalla Sachukara, Fatehganj Paschi district. Here, 35-year-old Satyavati, wife of Laxmi Prasad, was cleaning the house when a snake present there bit her arm, leading to a deterioration of her condition. Her relatives hospitalized her, and doctors began treatment.
The fourth case occurred in the village of Po Nagla, Bhuta district. 20-year-old Sonu, son of Bhimsen, was bitten by a snake. Sonu reported that he was walking to look at rice crops in the field, and a snake sitting by the roadside bit his leg. After this, his condition began to worsen, and his family took him to the district hospital. Sonu reported that his condition is currently stable, and he is undergoing treatment.
Snake bite cases increase during the rainy season, especially in rural areas. The team at the district hospital is prepared to treat patients with snake bites. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) stated that snake bite cases have been received at the district hospital, and doctors have been treating them. He noted that such incidents increase during the rainy period, and full readiness and sufficient stock of anti-venom are maintained at the district level.
He emphasized that timely treatment allows saving a patient's life. Regarding the case where a person brought the snake with them, the CMO noted that this helps in identifying the species of the snake that delivered the bite and facilitates the treatment process. Following the registration of four snake bite cases in Bareli within 24 hours, all patients are receiving treatment at the district hospital, and thanks to timely attention and treatment, the lives of all victims have been saved.
