The Ministry of Mining and Geology reported that the international conference GEOMIN 2026 concluded in Tashkent on September 16. The event took place from September 14 to 16 at the Hilton Tashkent City hotel.
The conference gathered over 300 specialists in geology and mining from 25 countries, as well as representatives from more than 90 companies and organizations.
Over three days, participants discussed modern approaches to geological resource exploration and development. Twenty-two scientific sessions were held within two parallel tracks, 97 reports were presented, and eight poster presentations were conducted.
The main focus was on the digital transformation of the industry, the application of artificial intelligence, the creation of national geological databases, three-dimensional modeling, modern geophysical technologies, and new methods for finding critical minerals.
A separate element of the program was an exhibition, which involved 27 domestic and foreign companies and organizations. Solutions in the fields of technology, equipment, and software for geological exploration, geophysics, remote sensing, borehole drilling, mineralogy, digitization of geological data, artificial intelligence, and automation of production processes were presented.
As part of the business program, the leadership of the Ministry of Mining and Geology held bilateral meetings with representatives of foreign companies and international organizations. The parties discussed expanding cooperation, attracting investment, implementing modern technologies, and training specialists.
Several documents were signed after the conference, providing for the development of interaction in the fields of education, scientific research, digitalization, and technology transfer.
GEOMIN 2026 also served as a platform for professional dialogue between state structures, geological services, scientific and educational institutions, mining companies, and technological enterprises. Participants exchanged practical experience and discussed the further development of geological exploration using digital solutions and modern research methods.
The main program of the conference concluded on September 16. The following day, September 17, participants plan to visit the facilities of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine to inspect production sites and organize geological work.
