French Embassy to Host Month of French Culture in Bukhara

The French Embassy in Uzbekistan has announced the organization of a Month of French Culture in Bukhara. The events are scheduled from Saturday, October 2, to October 31, 2026.

During this month, the city will serve as a venue for a series of exhibitions, concerts, dance performances, and film screenings. Organizers noted that residents of Uzbekistan will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with France's cultural heritage in Bukhara, described as the pearl of the Silk Road.

The program covers areas such as painting, music, dance, cinema, and conferences. All events will be open to the public and free of charge.

The festival opening will take place on October 3 and 4. On these days, exhibitions and street performances will be held in various locations across the city, including the Poi Kalyan complex, the Sitorai Mohi-Khosa Palace, and the Ark fortress.

According to the opening program, at 3:00 PM on October 3, an exhibition titled 'Landscapes of Provence' by artist Diana Khamzina will open at the Sitorai Mohi-Khosa Palace. At 5:30 PM, the dance group Beau Geste will perform at the Ark fortress. In the evening, at 7:00 PM, a concert by Christine Fontrepul will take place at the Poi Kalyan complex.

The rest of the month-long program includes a series of conferences dedicated to cultural heritage, which will be held from October 5 to 9, as well as a French film festival scheduled for October 13 to 17.

The Month of French Culture will conclude with a joint French-Uzbek concert. Furthermore, continuous interactive events will take place throughout the period in the city. Organizers reported that the detailed program for the Month of French Culture will be published later.
