President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Karakalpak Scientific and Practical Medical Academy, which was established as the main center for retraining medical personnel according to international standards and modern technologies.
This project is being implemented as part of efforts to transform the region's medical institutions into a unified innovation cluster, involving the private sector. A modern complex has been built on a plot of 4.6 hectares, with a total cost of 154 billion soums, and it will create 80 new jobs.
The academy will annually conduct advanced training for 3,000 doctors, as well as for 6,800 mid-level medical and pharmaceutical staff. Additionally, about 100 clinical residents from Priaralyo will be able to study at this institution. A hotel with 72 beds has been provided for employees coming from remote settlements.
The academy is equipped with 18 simulation rooms for practicing practical skills, covering over 50 specialties and allowing for the practice of more than 100 types of medical activities. The institution is equipped with advanced equipment, including the 'Edge Medical' surgical robot, which is a unique device in Central Asia and is used for performing high-precision remote operations.
The academy is establishing active cooperation with renowned foreign universities, such as the University of Pittsburgh in the USA and the University of Freiburg in Germany. This cooperation includes joint scientific research, educational courses, and the implementation of telemedicine technologies. During his visit, the head of state inspected the educational facilities and held discussions with students and industry employees.
