Takada, the manufacturer of the QDENGA vaccine, has received marketing authorization from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) of India. To bring this vaccine to the Indian market, Takada has entered into an agreement with Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, which will handle the promotion and sale of the drug.
The vaccine is approved for people aged 4 to 60 years. The vaccination process involves administering two doses with an interval of three months. This vaccine can also be received by people who have previously had dengue, as dengue has four strains, and even after infection with one strain, the risk of infection with others remains.
It is important to note that this vaccine is effective against all four dengue strains.
