Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, children of employees in the education sector will be able to benefit from a 30% discount on the contract cost when enrolling or continuing their studies at state higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. This provision was officially approved by a government decree dated September 17, according to the Ministry of Justice's Telegram channel.
This benefit is intended for children of teachers who are studying full-time at the bachelor's level in state higher educational institutions. If one teacher has multiple children studying on a paid contract basis at state universities, the discount will be calculated and applied individually for each child.
Conditions under which the discount is not provided
There are certain exceptions where this benefit does not apply. It is not valid for studies in higher military and paramilitary educational organizations, nor in foreign universities that have branches or representative offices in Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, the discount is not available for contracts issued under supplementary or differentiated types, as well as for joint study programs or studies at faculties of foreign partners. The benefit also does not extend to studies in private (non-state) higher educational institutions.
Procedure for obtaining the discount
To use the discount, one must submit the relevant application through the electronic system kontrakt.edu.uz. During the application review, the 'Digital Government' system will use the interdepartmental integration platform to confirm the parent's status as an educator. If the data is successfully confirmed, the discount will be applied automatically.
The responsible body is obliged to review the submitted application within two working days. It is important to note that the discount is granted only once per academic year. If the student's parents cease to meet the category of educators, the benefit will cease from the beginning of the next academic year.
