In the Kegeili district of Karakalpakstan, 50 families included in the Social Register have been given the opportunity to engage in agriculture in greenhouses with the aim of subsequently establishing their own farms.
Participants in this program will receive training over two years, as well as guaranteed purchase of produced goods at established market prices. The President visited the greenhouse complex, which was created at the initiative of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction.
12.5 billion soums in preferential financing were allocated for the creation of this complex, and the total area of the complex is five hectares. Each family was allocated 10 sotoks of greenhouse area.
The entrepreneur assigned to the project will not only provide participants with all necessary working conditions but also conduct training on modern methods of greenhouse farming. Upon completion of the two-year preparation period, the families should organize their greenhouses on their private plots.
Furthermore, the entrepreneur has undertaken the obligation to purchase products from the participants at market value, which ensures not only job creation but also establishes a sales mechanism.
Annual training for up to a thousand people on current methods of greenhouse and agricultural production is also planned at the base of this complex.
To further increase family income, they are encouraged to raise ducks. In a 350-meter canal located near the complex, there are 500 ducks, and each family was given 10 breeding ducks of the 'Favorit' breed, imported from Brazil.
To minimize electricity costs on the territory of the complex, solar panels with a total capacity of 100 kilowatts have been installed; according to the president's press service, this generated energy is sufficient for the daily needs of the greenhouse.
It is worth noting that the poultry farm complex in the Kegeili district has exported products to Afghanistan since the beginning of the current year for an amount exceeding one million dollars and plans to increase this volume to one and a half million dollars by the end of the year. This 21-hectare enterprise provides 70 permanent jobs and can house up to 200 thousand birds simultaneously.
