The poultry complex located in the Kegeili district of Karakalpakstan has begun exporting its products to Afghanistan. Since the beginning of this year, the volume of supplies has reached $1.1 million, and by the end of the year, it is planned to increase this figure to $1.5 million.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Karakalpakstan and familiarized himself with the work of this enterprise, known as 'Kegeili Baraka Nasli Parranda'. The complex was built on an area of 21 hectares in accordance with the president's decree of June 28, 2024, and the total investment in this project amounted to $7.8 million. After the enterprise was commissioned, 70 local residents gained permanent employment.
The production capacity of the complex allows for the simultaneous housing of up to 200 thousand chickens, but currently, 130 thousand birds are housed at the facility. Annually, the enterprise produces 27.5 million incubation eggs, which are used for raising young stock and chicks. Additionally, proprietary feed is produced for the birds on the complex's territory; the feed production plant is designed for 100 tons daily, and all production cycles are fully automated.
The creation of such a large enterprise has transformed logistics in the region. Previously, chicken meat and eggs were delivered to Karakalpakstan from other regions, but now local production meets domestic demand and enables the export of products outside the region.
As part of the plans to expand production, an increase in export volumes is expected, specifically bringing supplies to Afghanistan up to $1.5 million by the end of the year. Furthermore, another poultry farm with an area of 8.5 hectares is planned to be launched in the Kegeili district, valued at $5 million. This new project is intended to increase production volumes and create additional jobs.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued an instruction regarding the necessity of further developing such enterprises and consolidating them into large-scale poultry holdings to create new, well-paid jobs.
