Russian archaeologists continued their research in Spitsbergen, conducting another season of work. The main task of the scientists was to monitor the condition of already known archaeological sites on the archipelago's territory.
During these works, a destroyed burial of an adult individual was discovered. Apparently, this person had connections with Pomor expeditions that traveled to the northern archipelago.
Using modern scientific methods, researchers were able not only to document this find in digital format but also to reconstruct the appearance of this man. This discovery was reported on the official website of the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
