Followers mark the beginning of the holy month of Purattasi

Hindus from South India around the world are beginning to observe Purattasi, a sacred period that will last from September 18 to October 17. This month is primarily dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, also affectionately known as Balaji, Srinivasa, or Govinda.

Devotees gathered at the temple to commence the observance of Purattasi, which involves prayer, fasting practices, and devotion to Lord Venkateswara. This monthly fast will take place during the specified dates.

Followers participated at the Siva Sati Aliyam temple in Chathswarthe, including Dreiling Mandiri (11 years old), D'Angelo Pillai (6 years old), Sruti Raju (6 years old), and Darsh Raju (12 years old), who began the monthly fast.
