The domestic airline IndiGo has adjusted the cost of several additional and special services, making some extra conveniences more expensive for passengers, according to reports.
The changes affect fares for excess baggage, child tickets, unaccompanied minor travel arrangements, and the airline's Fast Forward priority service.
Baggage Fare Changes
According to information from IndiGo, passengers carrying more baggage than allowed within their allowance will now have to pay ₹800 for each extra kilogram. Previously, this fee was ₹700 per kilogram.
Child Ticket Price Adjustment
The carrier has also changed rates for infants aged three days to two years. The cost of pre-booking a child ticket has increased from ₹2,000 to ₹2,250, while the fee for booking a child ticket at the airport has risen from ₹2,500 to ₹3,000.
Infants continue to fly without an assigned seat, but having a ticket remains a mandatory requirement.
Unaccompanied Child Services
Furthermore, IndiGo has revised tariffs for children traveling without an accompanying adult. The service for unaccompanied minors on domestic flights will now cost ₹5,999 for children aged five to twelve, up from the previous ₹5,000. For international flights, the unaccompanied minor service has been raised to ₹12,999.
Increase in Priority Service Prices
Passengers wishing to use priority services will also face increased costs. IndiGo's Fast Forward service, which provides priority check-in and boarding, will now cost ₹650, up from its previous price of ₹500. On international flights, the Fast Forward fee is ₹850 per segment.
The airline has also increased the cost of a travel certificate to ₹300 from the previous ₹200. It should be noted that all revised fares are in addition to the standard ticket fare and baggage allowance and apply to the respective optional services.
