55 Years of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Peru, Symbolized by the Exchange of Cultural Treasures

The Moche golden headdress, one of Peru's most important national relics, was stolen from a tomb in northern Peru in 1988. This artifact disappeared for many years but was able to return home after almost two decades.

After its return, the headdress was rarely shown to the general public in Peru. However, today it is part of the exhibition 'Corn, Gold, and Jaguar,' which is being held at the National Museum of Beijing, thousands of kilometers from where it was created.

In connection with China and Peru celebrating 55 years of diplomatic ties, the exchange of such treasures represents something more significant—a strong friendship and partnership based on mutual prosperity.
