Under pressure from the Supreme Court, which demanded last week that the government review its decision to refuse lowering the cutoff percentile, the Center announced on Thursday a possible reduction of this threshold.
According to Amit Anand Chaudhary's statement, the qualifying percentile for admission to the NEET-SS super specialization courses may be lowered from the current 50% to 30% to conduct a proposed special round of vacancy filling.
This change is aimed at filling approximately 2000 vacant seats.
