One of the major practical initiatives was studying the possibility of supplying Uzbekistan with eight more sets of high-speed trains. The parties agreed to begin preparing a feasibility study for this project.
It is also planned to establish a 'Bio-center' in Uzbekistan for storing national genomic data and biological samples, as well as to implement joint projects in artificial intelligence, data centers, critical minerals, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.
The role of the special mechanism 'Korea Desk,' operating under the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, will be strengthened. It is intended to promptly resolve issues faced by Korean companies operating in Uzbekistan and improve the investment climate.
An agreement was reached to elevate defense cooperation to a new level and form new joint projects. The parties discussed expanding interaction in medicine, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology, including increasing the participation of Korean firms in the Uzbek market.
Additionally, the parties agreed to continue cooperation on solving environmental problems related to desiccation, desertification, and water scarcity in the Aral Sea. The presidents also agreed to successfully complete the Korea-Saram historical museum project in Tashkent, which will be dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the resettlement of Koreans in Central Asia in 2027.
In conclusion, it was decided to hold the next Interregional Forum in Samarkand and declare 2027 the year of 'Culture and Mutual Exchange.'
