The government is implementing a number of beneficial programs for farmers that help them overcome financial difficulties. Among these state initiatives is the 'PM Kisan Maandhan Yojna' Pension Scheme, which provides a monthly income of 3000 rupees.
The 'PM Kisan Maandhan Yojna' (PM-KMY) pension program was launched by the Modi government on September 12, 2019, to support farmers. This scheme recently turned seven years old. The program has received a significant positive response as it is designed to ensure the financial stability of small and marginal farmers in old age.
'PM Kisan Maandhan Yojna' is a scheme that guarantees farmers a pension. The central government manages this program so that the farmers' old age is spent in comfort. According to the scheme's terms, eligible farmers begin receiving a pension of up to 3000 rupees monthly after reaching the age of 60.
To join this state pension program, the government has set specific age requirements. The farmer must be between 18 and 40 years old at the time of application. Additionally, owning agricultural land of no more than two hectares is mandatory.
To receive the full benefit of the state pension program, the farmer must make monthly contributions ranging from 55 to 200 rupees, depending on their age. It is important to note that the amount contributed by the farmer is compensated by the state by depositing an equal amount into the farmer's pension account.
When reviewing the rules and conditions of the 'PM Mandhan' pension program, the Modi government added a family pension option. If the eligible farmer passes away for any reason, their spouse will receive half of the established pension according to current regulations.
To apply for the 'PM Kisan Maandhan Yojna' program, documents such as an Aadhaar identity card, a receipt for an active bank account, land documents, and a valid mobile phone number are required. A pension account can be opened at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
