Rockstar Games has announced the release of Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album, the official album for the new chapter of the franchise, which will occur on the same date as the game's launch, November 19th.
This music compilation will include 34 new tracks and feature various renowned artists, such as Keith Richards, Yung Lean, Morgan Wallen, and Rauw Alejandro. The distribution of this album will be done in collaboration with Atlantic Records.
A highlight is the release format: although GTA 6 itself will only be available in digital format, the soundtrack will have several physical edition options, both on CD and vinyl.
In preparation for the full launch, Rockstar has already made six singles from the album available on streaming platforms. Among the musicians involved are Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, PinkPantheress, and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, former member of Daft Punk.
In addition to compositions created specifically for the album, GTA 6 will feature licensed tracks from well-known artists, following the series' tradition of incorporating radio stations as a fundamental element in the game's setting.
Although Rockstar has not yet specified all the CD and vinyl models that will be sold, it has been confirmed that multiple physical versions will be available in stores.
This situation creates a paradox: the only way to own GTA 6 on a physical medium will be through the soundtrack, not the game itself.
