Date, Time, and Ritual for Parvati Ni Ekadashi in 2026

Parvati Ni Ekadashi is observed annually in the month of Bhadrapada, during the Shukla Paksha, on the day of Ekadashi. According to beliefs, it is on this day that the deity Vishnu changes his position in the state of yoga-nidra. From Devashani Ekadashi to Deva Utkhani Ekadashi, the deity remains in yoga-nidra in the underworld for about four months, and this period is called Chaturmasa. Parvati Ni Ekadashi marks the moment when the deity changes its position, so this day is considered particularly auspicious for receiving blessings.

According to the Hindu Panchang, the date of Ekadashi in the month of Bhadrapada, Shukla Paksha, falls on the night from September 21st to September 22nd, starting at 08:01 and ending at 09:43. Based on the rising date, the Parvati Ni Ekadashi fast will be observed on Tuesday, September 22nd.

On Parvati Ni Ekadashi, which falls on September 22nd, Ravi Yoga will be active. This auspicious yoga will last from 06:09 to 07:06 AM on September 22nd, totaling 57 minutes. Additionally, Atiganda and Sukarma Yogis will be present on this day.

Those observing the Parvati Ni Ekadashi fast can complete morning rituals and decide on fasting during Brahma Muhurta. On September 22nd, Brahma Muhurta will be from 04:35 to 05:22 AM. The auspicious time for worshipping the deity Vishnu is scheduled from 09:11 AM to 13:45 PM. In addition, there are three special time intervals:

  • Labh-Unnati Muhurta: from 10:43 AM to 12:14 PM

  • Amrita-Sarvottam Muhurta: from 12:14 PM to 13:45 PM

  • Abhidjit Muhurta: from 11:49 AM to 12:38 PM

The completion of the Parvati Ni Ekadashi fast will take place on Wednesday, September 23rd. Fasting individuals can perform Parana after prayers at any time between 06:10 AM and 08:35 AM.

Traditionally, worship of the deity Vishnu is conducted on Parvati Ni Ekadashi while observing all rituals. It is necessary to wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and wear clean clothes. Then, Ganga Jal should be sprinkled on the altar, and the image of the deity should be installed. After deciding to fast, devotees must offer yellow garments, yellow flowers, Tulasi leaves, and Akshata to the deity Vishnu. A ghee lamp is lit before him, and the place of worship is perfumed with incense. Next, fruits, sweets, and Panchamrit are offered to the deity. After this, one should sit and repeat the mantra 'Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya'. It is also considered a very good deed to recite Vishnu Sahasranama on this day. Concluding the ritual, one should donate items to those in need according to their wish.
