The Ministry of Broadcasting announced on Wednesday that films showing the use or distribution of narcotics must now be accompanied by an anti-drug warning.
Previously, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) required that scenes that could 'encourage, justify, or romanticize drug addiction' not be shown. However, these rules did not mandate displaying a specific warning on screen.
The new warning states: 'Illegal drugs destroy health and guarantee imprisonment. Say no to drugs.'
