A video appeared on social networks showing a teacher repeatedly hitting a child in the face during the educational process. It is known that this incident took place in the Namangan region.
The Regional Department of Preschool and School Education initiated an official investigation into this fact. According to preliminary information, the incident occurred on September 16 around 10:30 during the third lesson in the first grade 'B' of School No. 39 in the Kasansai district. The teacher used physical force against the student after he was unable to read the assignment from the textbook.
A working group was formed by the regional department to fully clarify the circumstances. As part of the current official investigation, a legal assessment of the events and the actions of the responsible employees will be conducted. Based on the results of the investigation, measures may be applied to the teacher and school management in accordance with current legislation.
Representatives of the regional department emphasized the need to observe the rights and legitimate interests of students in educational institutions, as well as the inadmissibility of any forms of violence, respecting the honor and dignity of the students.
This case coincides with the tightening of liability measures against teachers who commit violence against children. In Uzbekistan, fines ranging from 1 to 5 BRV are provided for the use of physical or psychological violence against minors, and teachers brought to administrative responsibility are suspended from working with children for one year.
