Online applications have already commenced. Regarding salary, it ranges from ₹12,000 to ₹29,380 per month for BPMs (Branch Postmasters) (under the TRCA slot), and from ₹10,000 to ₹24,470 per month for ABPM/GDS (under the TRCA slot).
To apply, several conditions must be met. Firstly, a mandatory requirement is possessing a secondary school certificate (10th grade) from any recognized educational board. Candidates must also have passed Mathematics and English in the 10th grade. Secondly, the candidate must know the official local language of the state or postal circle where they are applying, at a level achieved by the 10th grade.
In terms of age, the minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum is 40 years. Age relaxations are provided: 3 years for the OBC category, 5 years for SC/ST categories, and 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), according to established rules.
Furthermore, there are other essential requirements: basic computer skills, the ability to ride a bicycle, and having sufficient means of livelihood.
The main feature of this hiring process is the absence of competitive exams or interviews. An automated ranking list will be compiled based on the scores obtained by applicants in the 10th grade. Candidates with high marks in the 10th grade have a significantly higher chance of direct selection. After the ranking list is published, selected candidates will only undergo document verification.
To begin, one must visit the official GDS India Post portal (indiapostgdsonline.gov.in). The next step is registration and obtaining a registration number. Then, the application form must be filled out, providing basic personal details and 10th-grade scores, and selecting a preferred postal circle/division.
