Prime Minister Modi opened the Semicon India 2026 event, which will last for three days. The theme of this major event is 'Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem'. During the opening, Modi expressed a firm intention to make India a major and reliable center in the semiconductor sector.
He noted that India has demonstrated its technical capabilities, and commercial chip production has now successfully launched within the country. The Prime Minister announced that the Indian government has begun the second phase of the semiconductor mission.
