Meta launches Meta One subscription in the UAE for WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook users

Meta, which owns the popular platforms WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, has introduced a new service subscription called Meta One for residents of the UAE, including individuals, content creators, and businesses.

The company emphasized that core features in its applications and in Meta AI will remain free for UAE residents; subscriptions, however, grant access to additional and more resource-intensive features.

Meta reported that as of Tuesday, over 15 million subscriptions and trial periods had been registered, with functionality available in Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI, with plans to add Edits and AI glasses features.

It should be noted that pricing, feature sets, and availability vary depending on the region, the specific application, and the account type.

Meta One will include Edits Plus, which provides additional cloud storage for synchronizing projects across devices, as well as expanded access to the upcoming Edits assistant. This assistant is designed to help creators analyze Instagram data and generate content ideas.

Meta One is a new service that adds more value to the applications used by billions of people, offering plans for different user categories: individuals, creators, and businesses. It gives subscribers more opportunities for self-expression and AI usage, helping authors spend less time guessing and more time creating, and providing businesses with new tools for growth.

The company clarified that the basic experience across all applications and in Meta AI has always been free, and this will not change; subscriptions provide access to more specialized capabilities and advanced AI usage that go beyond what the free product for billions of users can offer.

Meta stated that upon the launch of Meta One, it included over 50 features in Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI, and plans to gradually expand functionality to include Edits, AI glasses, and other products.

Earlier this year, a unified Meta One product line was introduced—Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, and WhatsApp Plus. These plans offered exclusive new features that promote deeper connection and creativity on Instagram, as well as improved organization and personalization on WhatsApp.

These plans demonstrate high user retention, and the company continues to develop them. For example, Instagram Plus recently received custom fonts for direct messages and stories, notifications about story views from specific people, and preview of direct messages. Facebook Plus is implementing customization options for Messenger, offering more detailed Reels analytics, and expanding super reactions for feed and Reels posts. WhatsApp Plus will soon begin testing chat and media backup features, as well as Focus Schedules, which help protect important time by disabling or hiding chats on a schedule.

Meta One goes beyond these plans with Core and Premium bundles, which combine features from the previously mentioned individual plans with more intensive use of some of the most resource-intensive AI capabilities. This means the ability to generate more media content using Meta AI, including image creation and editing and video generation based on Muse models, as well as more frequent use of built-in AI tools like Restyle in Instagram.

Meta AI will remain free for everyday use; Core and Premium plans are intended for those who wish to gain even greater creative freedom from AI tools. During early testing, over half of subscribers actively used both AI and self-expression features in the bundles, with features such as Restyle and voice effects in Instagram being among the main reasons for subscribing.

Developing an audience and running a business on social media requires constant effort—from content creation and trend tracking to standing out from competitors. Meta One plans for creators and businesses integrate more professional tools and AI directly into the applications that audiences and customers already use, allowing them to manage their presence without needing to create new accounts or download additional apps.

Meta One offers new features that help users solidify their presence and turn attention into action: an enhanced profile displaying websites, locations, and user reviews; a prominent subscription button for Reels; and automatic sending of subscription invitations to those who interact with content. Additionally, users can respond to customers around the clock using the enhanced Meta Business Agent.

The company stated its intention to continue adding agent features and skills designed to support small businesses and content creators in cross-marketing, business operations, and content creation and optimization. For instance, Edits Plus will soon be added to Meta One—a new plan offering more cloud storage for project synchronization across devices, as well as additional use of the upcoming Edits assistant for analyzing Instagram insights and brainstorming new ideas.

Meta One plans are now available globally. Pricing starts from 5.99 dirhams per month for individual products, 22.99 dirhams per month for individual bundles, and 46.99 dirhams per month for creator and business bundles.

Instagram Plus costs 7.99 dirhams per month and allows users to express themselves, connect more deeply with friends, and customize their experience in unique ways. WhatsApp Plus costs 5.99 dirhams per month and helps maintain order and express individuality through exclusive themes, icons, special effect stickers, and the ability to pin more chats. Facebook Plus costs 7.99 dirhams per month and enhances the user experience with features such as custom app icons, super hearts, and more.

The Core plan costs 22.99 dirhams per month: it allows for more frequent use of the Restyle feature in Instagram, applying voice effects and creative tools, and generating more images and videos with Meta AI. Furthermore, users can express themselves more through personalized application features (Instagram Plus, WhatsApp Plus, Facebook Plus).

Premium costs 76.99 dirhams per month: it includes all Core features but with the largest volume of content creation capabilities using Meta AI across the entire application ecosystem.

Essential starts from 46.99 dirhams per month: it allows users to establish themselves and gain the trust of a new audience. It provides tools for managing presence and greater access to the Meta Business Agent in WhatsApp for 24/7 customer service. A verified badge, a verified channel in WhatsApp Business, and impersonation protection are also included so users know who they are dealing with. Advanced starts from 119 dirhams per month: this package offers advanced publishing features such as scheduling stories up to 30 days in advance, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, and deeper audience insights. This package grants team members access to the account without needing to share passwords, and it provides more linked devices and broadcast credits in WhatsApp. Additionally, it includes more responses from the Meta Business Agent.

Expert packages start from 359 dirhams per month, and Max starts from 1199 dirhams per month. These plans include the highest levels of feature access and the power of the Meta Business Agent for large-scale managing teams.

The US technology giant Meta, which owns popular social applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, introduced its Meta One service subscription on Tuesday, with prices starting from 5.99 dirhams per month.

This service provides individual users, content creators, and businesses with expanded access to professional features and artificial intelligence (AI) tools across the company's entire suite of applications. Meta has combined over 50 features already available in Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI, with future plans including AI glasses and editing tools.

According to the company, there are currently over 15 million registered subscriptions and trial periods. Meta emphasized that the core functionality of all applications and Meta AI will remain free; subscriptions unlock additional specialized capabilities and extended AI usage beyond the free tier.

Meta One develops the concept of individual product plans launched earlier this year, such as Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, and WhatsApp Plus, which the company claims demonstrate a high degree of user retention.

Recently, Instagram Plus gained the ability to use custom fonts in Direct and Stories, as well as notifications about Story views from specific users and previewing messages in Direct. Facebook Plus adds customization options for Messenger, advanced analytics for Reels, and super reactions on feed and Reels posts.

WhatsApp Plus will soon begin testing storage for backing up chats and media files, as well as a Focus Schedule feature to disable or hide chats at set times.

The Basic and Premium tiers of Meta One combine these individual application features with broader access to computationally intensive AI tools, including image and video generation through Meta's Muse models, as well as built-in tools like Restyle in Instagram.

Early testing showed that more than half of subscribers to the packages used both AI and self-expression features, with tools like Restyle and voice effects in Instagram cited as key reasons for subscribing.

For businesses and content creators, Meta One integrates professional tools and AI directly into the applications their audience already uses. New features include an enhanced profile displaying websites, locations, and customer reviews, a prominent subscription button in Reels, and automatic subscription invitations for users interacting with content. Businesses also gain extended access to Meta Business Agent for 24/7 customer query support.

Meta announced plans to add further features, including Edits Plus, which will provide additional cloud storage for syncing projects across devices and allow for more active use of the upcoming Edits assistant for analyzing Instagram insights and generating content ideas.
