Jadie Naicker, one of the founders of the South African payment technology company Swiffy, has linked his passion for football with a major business partnership. Swiffy has signed an agreement with the English Premier League club Hull City.
Business Partnership
The founders of Swiffy include Neil Schwartzman, Jadie Naicker, and Christian Di Gio. This partnership involves providing Hull City with digital and traditional media support, as well as assistance with stadium events during the 2026/27 season.
The Swiffy founders consider securing the contract with Hull a significant achievement, given the global status of the Premier League. Hull Club was promoted to the Premier League for the current season (2026/27) and showed an impressive start, remaining undefeated after four matches, including a 2-0 victory over Manchester United in the opening game.
Swiffy was founded in 2019 by Naicker, Christian Di Gio, and Neil Schwartzman, who were colleagues and friends aiming to change the approach to payments. Initially, the company operated out of Naicker's garage in Westville, where the three founders handled all aspects—from product development and coding to sales and operations.
Naicker described the partnership with Hull as 'absolutely surreal.' He emphasized that for them, this is not just about short-term results but also about strengthening brand recognition, increasing trust, and bringing Swiffy onto a wider international stage thanks to a team with a rich history.
The motivation for collaborating with the club arose after its return to the Premier League. Naicker noted that the team's return symbolized ambition, resilience, and the drive to compete at the highest level—qualities that strongly resonate with Swiffy's development path and the expansion of its payment infrastructure across Africa. He stated that the partnership with Hull City is a major milestone in Swiffy's development and a powerful confirmation of the business's progress.
According to Naicker, for the company, this is more than just a partnership. It provides an opportunity to be associated with an internationally recognized football club, enhance the brand globally, and increase the visibility of Swiffy, its sellers, and its partners. He also noted the synergy between the two brands: performance, trust, stability, and confidence are critically important both on the field and in payment systems, making the partnership authentic.
Naicker also highly praised the victory over Manchester United in the Premier League match, calling it an 'incredible moment' and a big statement. He noted that for a newly promoted team to start the season with such confidence and then solidify a position in the top half of the Premier League table was an outstanding event. As the club's new partner, he felt the moment of signing the deal was particularly exciting, as Hull City currently feels a real momentum.
Naicker, who grew up in Meyerton, shared that his love for football began in childhood. In the 1990s, English football became an integral part of the sporting landscape, shaping his affinity for the game. He saw in football the ability to unite people, creating camaraderie, a shared passion, and a sense of community, which makes this opportunity so surreal.
He recalled the 1994 World Cup final between Brazil and Italy, which was his first vivid memory and the spark of his passion for football at the age of ten. Furthermore, his admiration for sports was fueled by the legend of Manchester United's Eric Cantona. Although he was always a devoted Manchester United fan, his loyalty recently shifted to Hull City.
