The startup SeaCar from the state of Santa Catarina has unveiled details of the Velocity model—a five-seater boat designed to resemble a supercar. The asking price for this model is 189 thousand reais, and its maximum speed reaches 80 km/h, which is equivalent to approximately 43 knots. The public premiere will take place at the São Paulo Boat Show, held at São Paulo Expo from September 24th to 29th; sales will commence after this event.
According to the company's statement, the Velocity's design merges elements of sports cars, showing a clear resemblance to Lamborghini models, alongside features inspired by marine animals, including the orca. SeaCar emphasizes that it has no commercial ties with the Italian manufacturer.
The Velocity is designed to accommodate five people, following a passenger car layout: two seats in the front and a three-person bench seat in the back. The configuration includes sports seats, LED lighting, an audio system, and a stern engine. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the engine's power or the vessel's dimensions.
The imitation extends to the cabin: the dashboard replicates the layout of a car cockpit, including the instrument panel view and the windshield shape. The interior is equipped with digital gauges, a raised center console with cup holders, and various finishing materials.
Despite its appearance, the Velocity is not amphibious; it is intended exclusively for water travel and cannot be used on land. Currently available images are studio shots, and the public will see the boat for the first time at the São Paulo pavilion.
SeaCar, founded in 2020 in Santa Catarina, began sales in 2023 and currently serves clients in Australia and the United States.
Before the Velocity, the brand produced Vehigh—a 14-foot (about 4.3 m) vessel whose exterior copied sports models from Aston Martin. The hull of the Vehigh is made of fiberglass, and the mimicry is evident in the imitation of alloy wheels mounted on the sides of the hull. It is powered by a 160 hp Ford Duratec 2.0 gasoline engine connected to a jet drive and a 70-liter fuel tank.
An important detail hidden by the vehicle's appearance: Vehigh is classified as a sport boat and requires a maritime driver's license issued by the Brazilian Navy, which is separate from a national driver's license. This rule applies to all motor vessels in this category and presumably applies to the Velocity as well.
