The Agency for Industrial Cooperation and State Procurement of Uzbekistan held an online meeting with entrepreneurs to discuss expanding industrial cooperation around major metallurgical enterprises and developing new localization projects.
According to a message from the Agency for Industrial Cooperation and State Procurement, the meeting covered joint projects totaling $100 million, involving major metallurgical enterprises such as Aziya metall prof in Samarkand region, Sifatli sof po‘lat in Jizzakh region, Tay Chang Stil in Namangan region, and Vangda in Syrdarya region.
Particular attention was paid to coordinating the enterprises' needs for raw materials, materials, components, equipment, and services with the production capabilities of local entrepreneurs. Participants also reviewed proposals for localizing goods currently imported, as well as creating new cooperation chains.
During the meeting, the current production capacities of entrepreneurs and potential project initiatives were analyzed. Following the meeting, further practical steps were defined aimed at involving businesses in long-term industrial partnerships with large metallurgical companies.
These projects are intended to promote increased local production, develop import substitution products, form new value chain creation, and create additional jobs in the regions.
