Uzbek Farmers Study Irrigation Technologies in Egypt

A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhabov, visited the Egyptian company Elsewedy Watanya. According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the delegation included about 200 farmers and entrepreneurs who familiarized themselves with modern irrigation methods and the potential for their implementation in Uzbekistan.

Elsewedy Watanya specializes in modern irrigation technologies. Its 240,000 square meter plant annually produces over 2,400 central pivot irrigation systems. More than 500 engineers and technical specialists work at the enterprise.

According to the company's data, its technologies have contributed to the cultivation of 190,000 hectares of land. Members of the Uzbek delegation closely studied the central pivot irrigation systems produced by the company, including the principles of their operation, the possibilities for saving water and energy, and the efficiency of their use on vast agricultural territories.

The farmers showed particular interest in Egypt's experience in transforming desert and recently reclaimed lands into agricultural areas. During the visit, participants also discussed with Elsewedy Watanya experts the possibilities of applying these technologies in Uzbekistan, as well as issues of maintenance, technology transfer, and the implementation of joint projects.
