Improvement in the business climate in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm in the second quarter of 2026

According to a survey by the Central Bank, the business sentiment in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region improved in the second quarter of 2026. Furthermore, 65% of respondents noted that the conditions for doing business have improved.

Positive dynamics were also observed across several key indicators of economic activity. The share of survey participants who reported an increase in order volume reached 55%, which is 4 percentage points higher than previous data. Additionally, 54% of respondents reported an increase in production volumes, exceeding the previous period's figure by 7 percentage points.

Also, 49% of entrepreneurs noted an increase in demand for additional labor, rising by 4 percentage points. The share of those who reported an increase in supply volumes was 49%, which is 4 percentage points more. Meanwhile, 59% of respondents recorded an increase in fuel and energy consumption, which is 6 percentage points higher than the previous level.

Entrepreneurs' expectations for the next quarter also remain optimistic. 55% of respondents forecast an increase in production volumes, 56% expect an increase in orders, and 60% foresee an increase in fuel and energy consumption. These indicators showed growth of 3, 3, and 8 percentage points, respectively.

Positive expectations persist regarding the demand for additional labor. On average, over 54% of those surveyed believe that key economic indicators will grow in the next quarter. Moreover, 81% of entrepreneurs expressed confidence that the economic situation and business environment will continue to improve over the next three years.
