GREW Solar partners with American company to produce 4 GW hybrid tandem solar modules

GREW Solar announced on Wednesday the signing of a five-year commercial partnership worth 4 gigawatts (GW) with the American company Caelux Corporation. The goal of this agreement is to produce high-power hybrid tandem solar modules.

This collaboration increases the volume of orders placed by Caelux with solar module manufacturers worldwide to 19 GW for the use of its perovskite technology.

GREW Solar plans to integrate Caelux's energy-generating glass with its proprietary n-type TOPCon technology to create hybrid tandem modules, including GREW's large-format G12R series. Caelux's technology will enable GREW to create dual energy-generating layer modules, achieving an efficiency exceeding 29 percent, which is a leading figure in the industry.

Both companies are targeting 2028 for the commercial release of advanced perovskite-silicon modules that meet the requirements of the Approved Manufacturer Module List (ALMM).

GREW Solar operates a 6.5 GW photovoltaic (PV) module production complex in Dudu, Rajasthan, and plans to expand production capacity to 11 GW. Additionally, the company is establishing an 8 GW photovoltaic cell production complex in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, where an 8 GW wafer and ingot production line is also under construction.

Caelux, headquartered in California, USA, is a global leader in the development and production of perovskite solar technology, offering the most cost-effective way to generate new energy. Its patented technology converts the top glass of solar modules into a second energy generation layer, increasing energy density by up to 30 percent and improving the levelized cost of electricity by 20 percent or more.
