Design Week México 2026 will take place in Mexico City in October 2026

Mexico City will host Design Week México 2026 again, an event that has established itself as a global hub for innovation and creative quality. The edition is scheduled to take place from October 5 to 11, 2026, under the banner #DWM26.

On this occasion, the curation will adopt a considerably broader and more varied perspective. The goal is to invite both the public and design professionals to reflect on the discipline through global, fluid, and inclusive visions, moving beyond conventional methods.

Internationally, Chile was chosen as the Guest Country of Honor. This will ensure that the works of prominent Chilean designers are presented on the multiple platforms of DWM26, fostering a relevant conversation about the identity and future of design across Latin America.

Illustration Exhibition 'Together for Iran' to Open in Tehran

The group illustration exhibition titled 'Together for Iran' will open at the Book Garden in Tehran. The exhibition features over 80 works by 64 artists from various Iranian cities. The event is scheduled for Thursday evening.

The exhibition was organized by the Ketabara Group in collaboration with the Sura-ye Omid Institute and the Book Garden. It is the result of an open competition that invited artists to reflect on recent events and the experience of the Iranian people during the war.

The selected works address themes such as homeland, resilience, resistance, courage, social solidarity, the national flag, military experience, as well as hope and the future. Artists also addressed the mourning processions held in memory of the Imam of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and the public participation in bidding farewell to the country's heroes and martyrs.

A special section of the exhibition, named 'Angels of Minab,' is dedicated to children and students who died during military operations. This section uses a human-centered approach, striving to go beyond geographical boundaries, and demonstrates the creative responses of artists to the suffering of children and the destructive consequences of armed conflict.

The tragedy in Minab occurred in southern Iran during the Ramadan War when an attack took place at a school in the city of Minab, resulting in the death of several students and teachers. This incident attracted widespread attention and provoked artistic and cultural reactions dedicated to the memory of young victims and reflecting the impact of war on the civilian population, especially children.

In recent months, the memory of the children of Minab has also been reflected in exhibitions and other cultural events both in Iran and abroad. Artists have used visual art as a means of preserving memory and calling for greater attention to the human losses of war.

The organizers of 'Together for Iran' also aim to preserve this collection as part of the country's contemporary visual heritage. In addition to images of suffering and loss, the works emphasize the hope, solidarity, and resilience of the Iranian people in difficult times.

Parallel to the exhibition, a four-day illustration workshop will be held under the guidance of Mahboubeh Hosravi, a professor at Shiraz University and an illustration instructor who has conducted specialized seminars in Iran and other countries. The workshop will provide an opportunity for practical learning, experience exchange, and discussion of illustration.

The exhibition opening will take place on Thursday at 5:00 PM at the Tehran Book Garden, located in Negarestan. Artists, students, art and book specialists, and illustration enthusiasts are expected to attend the opening.

Online methods to identify fonts from images on computers and mobile phones

Font identifiers are crucial tools for professionals such as designers and writers, as well as for enthusiasts, who need to recognize typography present in graphic materials like flyers or covers. These digital platforms simplify the process, allowing for the submission of an image for quick and efficient analysis.

To identify a font from an image, simply access the respective platforms using a browser, whether on a mobile device or a computer. After uploading the visual elements, the system presents the exact names of the fonts, along with suggestions for alternatives.

Tecnoblog presents and details the use of three font identifier options to assist the user's daily routine.

What The Font is a practical identifier designed to search for typefaces through images, speeding up discovery by receiving photos or graphic pieces for immediate evaluation. To use it, you must open the browser on your phone or PC and access the address myfonts.com/pages/whatthefont. The user must then use the designated field to paste a link (URL) or click 'upload' to attach the file that will be processed by the font detector. It is necessary to mark the text segment whose font you wish to identify and subsequently click 'Identify fonts'. What The Font will return a list of typefaces similar to the submitted material, providing the name and creators of the font.

What Font Is functions as an online service dedicated to identifying fonts from images, helping to locate the typography of a character in just a few steps. Access is made through whatfontis.com in the mobile or PC browser. In the area marked 'Drag & Drop your image here', the user can insert the image URL or select the file from their gallery. After that, they must click 'Find the font' to start the search. The next step consists of selecting the text segment with the desired font and proceeding by clicking 'Next Step'. This service also offers suggestions for adjustments to facilitate identification, such as applying contrast or selecting specific characters. After following the instructions and clicking 'Next Step', the tool will present a list of fonts identical or similar to the submitted image. There is an option to download the file by clicking 'Download Now'.

FontToolbox is another online service that allows discovering fonts from images, offering quick identification of the typography in various visual files. The user must open the browser on their phone or PC and visit fonttoolbox.com. They should navigate the page to locate the section 'Drop an image here, or browse' to upload a photograph or drag the file to start the identification. After the image is uploaded, it is necessary to mark the words or letters whose fonts are intended to be recognized and then click 'Continue'. For greater accuracy, it is possible to select each character individually and click 'Continue' at the end of the page. A list of corresponding typefaces will be displayed, and the user can click 'View' next to the font to get more details.

It is important to note that the three services tested by Tecnoblog allow the download of the found typefaces. However, these may be available under free or paid licenses for accessing OTF, TTF, or WOFF formats. If the file is paid, it is recommended to write down the font name and search for it on specialized typography websites that have free online libraries, where royalty-free or similar versions can be found.

The downloaded fonts can be used in software such as Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, or Adobe Photoshop, provided that the typography files are installed on the computer, although this procedure varies depending on the operating system. On Windows, installation occurs via File Explorer or Microsoft Store. On macOS, it is necessary to access the 'Install Font' menu within Finder.

Regarding Canva, the font installation feature is restricted to Canva Pro subscribers, teams, educators, and non-profit organizations. The inclusion of new typefaces is done through the 'Brand Kit' functionality, selecting the 'Fonts' option for files in OTF, TTF, and WOFF formats.
