Samsung announced the launch of the premium smartphone Galaxy S26 FE in Brazil, with prices starting at R$ 5,499. Sales of this device begin on September 16th, approximately two weeks after its global announcement. The device is available in three shades: graphite, cobalt blue, and pistachio green, thus completing the Galaxy S line for 2026.
In terms of photography, the S26 FE preserves the optical system of the previous model, the Galaxy S25 FE. This includes a 50 MP main camera (with f/1.8 aperture and OIS), a 12 MP ultrawide lens (f/2.2), and an 8 MP telephoto lens (f/2.4, equipped with 3x optical zoom and OIS). The front camera has a resolution of 12 MP.
The main innovations are concentrated on the software aspect. Renato Citrini, senior product manager, highlighted the inclusion of the My FanCam feature, previously restricted to the brand's foldable models. This function automatically follows the person being filmed and adjusts the framing according to their movement. Furthermore, he mentioned the presence of Super Steady with horizontal lock, inherited from the Galaxy S26 series, along with improvements in night mode and zoom between 1x and 2x.
The artificial intelligence virtual assistant, Bixby, now has the ability to access information directly from the phone itself. According to Citrini, Bixby provides more accurate answers than a search engine when questioned about the device's battery consumption.
The device is equipped with the Exynos 2500 processor, a 3-nanometer chip initially presented in the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The screen is a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, featuring Full HD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. The battery has a capacity of 4,900 mAh and supports 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Its dimensions are 16.16 x 7.69 x 0.74 cm, weighing 193 grams, and it has an IP68 certification.
The S26 FE ships factory-installed with the One UI 9 version, which is built on Android 17. Samsung has committed to providing seven years of updates, extending the device's lifespan until Android 24. Citrini justified this investment, stating that maintaining a dedicated team for these software updates represents a cost to the company, but they wish to offer this option to consumers. Security patches will be maintained until September 30, 2033.
Some AI features depend on Gemini, which requires a subscription. For this reason, the device will be provided with six months of free access to the Google AI Pro plan for eligible users.
In the Brazilian market, the S26 FE competes against premium mid-range models and flagship devices from previous generations. Within Samsung's own portfolio, the Galaxy S25 with 256 GB can be found in the range of R$ 4,000. Among competitors, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro is available for approximately R$ 3,300 in promotional offers, while Xiaomi sells the Xiaomi 17T and Poco X8 Pro for R$ 8,699 and around R$ 3,000, respectively.
