The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has approved the construction of the New Fourth Corridor. The goal of this project is to strengthen Dubai's road network and improve connections with the federal road network of the United Arab Emirates.
This corridor will be 80 kilometers long, stretching from Al Faya Street in Abu Dhabi to Al Shanouf Street in Sharjah. It will feature twelve lanes in each direction, as well as seventy-two bridges and seventeen tunnels.
This route is expected to reduce travel time by up to 60 percent and provide access for over 3.1 million people. Furthermore, it will be integrated with Al Maktoum International Airport and the Etihad Rail railway.
The first phase of construction, running from Al Shanouf Street to the Dubai-Al Ain Road, will require an investment of 3.5 billion UAE dirhams.
