A delegation from Uzbekhydroenergo visited Korea to study the experience in the field of hydropower. Over the past decade, the country has implemented successive reforms in the hydropower sector and realized large investment projects using modern technologies.
As a result of these efforts, the number of hydroelectric power plants increased from 36 to 106, and the total capacity of the hydropower sector reached 2.5 GW.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was familiarized with the presentation of investment projects concerning the improvement of the waste management system, its recycling, and the production of electricity from this waste.
The energy system is critically important for ensuring the stability of the country's economy and the lives of its population. Therefore, one of the main requirements is not only the rational and economical use of energy resources, avoiding waste, but also strict adherence to safety standards at network facilities.
