To avoid termites, dampness, and cracks, certain chemical substances should be added during house construction

Problems such as termites, dampness, and cracks in residential buildings are common. Combating these ailments often requires significant financial expenditure on wall painting, repairs, and other types of work.

However, by using specific chemical substances in cement and mortars during the house construction phase, it is possible to prevent the emergence of these problems. Various chemicals and treatment methods are used when building concrete, plastering, and foundations to prevent dampness, termites, and cracks, as well as for waterproofing. Adding these substances to the mortar and foundation will help avoid subsequent costs associated with combating termites, dampness, and cracks.

An anti-termite chemical is used to combat termites, which prevents their reproduction. Chemicals such as chlorpyrifos or fipronil are introduced into the ground during foundation excavation and before floor backfilling. This creates a protective barrier against termites coming from the ground.

The second type of agent is a liquid waterproofing additive. It is designed to protect against dampness and ensure water tightness. It is available on the market under trade names such as Fixit DpProof or Sika Latex Super. It must be added to the mixture of cement, sand, and water in the specified dose. This closes the pores inside the concrete and prevents moisture and dampness from penetrating the walls.

The third component is a polymer/binding agent. It prevents the appearance of cracks and unnecessary fissures in walls and plaster. This chemical is sold under the name Plaster Blaster. Adding it to plaster or repair mortar makes the mixture stronger. It protects the plaster from peeling and small cracks that may appear upon drying.

By paying attention to these small details during house construction, large future expenses related to dampness, cracks, and moisture can be avoided, as these measures do not require significant initial investment.
