Palak Paneer Uttapam Recipe: A Combination of Taste and Health Benefits

If you are tired of monotonous breakfast dishes, try Palak Paneer Uttapam. This uttapam, made from suji (semolina), yogurt, spinach, and paneer, is not only very tasty but also easy to prepare.

To create this dish, first prepare a batter from suji and yogurt, into which spinach puree is then added. On top of the batter, place a filling of paneer, onion, tomatoes, and green pepper, which significantly enhances its flavor. It can be served with green or coconut chutney, or any other sauce of your choice. A detailed recipe for preparation is presented next.

To start, you will need: 1 cup of spinach puree, 1 cup of suji, 1/2 cup of yogurt, 1 packet of fruit salt, 1/2 cup of grated paneer, 1/2 onion, finely chopped, 1/2 tomato, finely chopped, 1 teaspoon of finely chopped green pepper, 1 tablespoon of finely chopped cilantro, salt to taste, oil and water as needed.

To make Palak Paneer Uttapam, first mix the suji, yogurt, salt, and spinach puree in a large bowl. Add a little water and prepare a thick batter. After thorough mixing, cover the batter and leave it for some time so that the suji swells.

Next, prepare the filling for the uttapam. In a separate bowl, mix the finely chopped onion, tomatoes, green pepper, cilantro, grated paneer, and a little salt, mixing all ingredients thoroughly.

Add the fruit salt to the batter and slightly dilute it with water, stirring gently so that the batter rises slightly.

Heat a pan, greasing it with a little oil. Pour one ladle of batter onto the hot pan and shape it into a round form, without making it too thin. Distribute the prepared paneer and vegetable filling on top, pressing it down slightly.

Cook the uttapam over medium heat until the bottom side is golden and well cooked. Then carefully flip it and fry the other side until done. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.

Serve the hot Palak Paneer Uttapam with green chutney or any other favorite sauce.
