CBSE to conduct exams for 12th-grade graduates in Middle Eastern countries on cancelled subjects

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to hold supplementary examinations for 12th-grade students in the United Arab Emirates and other Middle Eastern countries for subjects that were previously cancelled.

12th-grade students in the UAE who received their 2026 certification results under a special assessment scheme will have the opportunity to take exams in the discontinued disciplines.

These exams will cover 40 subjects—20 academic and 20 practical—and will take place in seven affected West Asian countries: UAE, Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

Previously, CBSE had cancelled exams in these countries due to the prevailing situation and introduced an assessment scheme on March 27, 2026, to prepare results for affected students.

Results for regular candidates from Middle Eastern countries were announced on May 13 along with the results of other 12th-grade candidates in India and abroad. Subsequently, results for private candidates from these countries were published according to the same scheme.

This recent decision was made following a ruling by the Supreme Court of India.
