The United States has reached a new record in the sale of heavy bombs destined for Israel. According to newspaper sources, this specific order covers 20,000 bombs of the MK-84 and BLU-117 models, in addition to other I-2000 units.
These munitions, weighing approximately 900 kilograms, are designed to be dropped from the air. The first two have an indiscriminate target, while the second has penetration capability, intended for attacking 'bunkers' and other armored structures.
The volume of this package exceeds previous transactions made under the administration of Joe Biden, who reportedly sold about 14,000 of these bombs after October 7, 2023, and also surpasses the volume reported by the Trump government in 2025, which reported sales of approximately 39,000 of these weapons.
This type of bomb is classified as one of the most destructive in the US arsenal. Israel has been criticized due to its frequent use in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
The commercial operation takes place within a system called Foreign Military Financing, where the United States advances funds that purchasing countries use to acquire weaponry.
