Delhi University has provided an opportunity for students aspiring to scientific research to enroll directly in PhD programs after completing four years of undergraduate study, bypassing the master's degree stage.
As part of the changes introduced by Delhi University in accordance with the National Education Policy, application deadlines have been extended. Students can submit applications until today, September 16th.
To participate in the PhD program at Delhi University, applicants must meet certain conditions. Primarily, students who have completed a four-year bachelor's degree must have at least 75 percent marks. However, relaxations are provided for candidates from reserved categories.
Students from SC, ST, OBC categories (not belonging to the non-creamy layer), persons with disabilities, and economically weaker candidates are granted a 5 percent discount.
The selection of PhD candidates will be based on the results of the UGC NET examination. Following this, selected applicants must undergo an interview.
There is also the question of whether students holding a master's degree can apply. The answer is positive: in addition to students who have completed a four-year bachelor's degree, those who have completed a three-year bachelor's degree and obtained a one or two-year master's degree may apply, provided they have 55 percent marks.
