More than twenty people in the village of Kanchampur, located in Bikhta, felt unwell after consuming food at a funeral feast (sharaddho).
Among those who fell ill were children and elderly people. Symptoms varied: some experienced diarrhea, while others showed signs of food poisoning. Upon receiving information about the incident, the administration promptly dispatched an ambulance, which transported all affected individuals to the Bikhta referral hospital, where they are under medical observation. Currently, it is reported that the condition of all patients is stable.
The incident came to light when a feast was organized in the village of Kanchampur, part of the Khadakpur panchayat of Bikhta, in honor of sharaddho. After the residents ate, some began to feel unwell. Soon, the number of sick people exceeded twenty, causing concern among families, especially due to the illness of children and the elderly.
When information about the mass illness reached the administration, an ambulance was immediately sent to transport all the sick people to the Bikhta referral hospital. According to Shiv Janm Ram, the BDO of Bikhta, a report was received from the Kanchampur panchayat of Khadakpur stating that about twenty people felt sick after eating at the sharaddho feast.
Under the BDO's instruction, an ambulance was called, and all the sick people were taken to the Bikhta referral hospital for treatment under the supervision of medical staff. According to the administration, the condition of the patients is satisfactory, and they are all out of danger.
The mass illness after consuming food at one feast raises questions about the composition of the dishes that caused the deterioration of health.
