There is a very specific demand in the ultra-high luxury automotive segment: the creation of custom-made tires for a single vehicle. Bridgestone recently fulfilled such an order for Lamborghini, developing and manufacturing four exclusive versions in Italy specifically for the Revuelto SV model.
A highlight of this line is the Potenza Race R, a track-oriented semi-slick tire, which was presented in August. This tire combines a motorsport-inspired compound with a more aggressive tread pattern, heating up quickly and, according to the manufacturer, maintaining stable lap times from the beginning to the end of the race. Although designed for racetracks, the Potenza Race R is homologated for use on public roads.
The rest of the tire family presents notable features. There is the Potenza Sport, intended for road use, which can incorporate run-flat technology. This technology allows the vehicle to continue driving up to 80 km/h after a puncture, even with zero pressure. This means that the owner of a car capable of exceeding 345 km/h can complete their journey at reduced speed in the right lane.
Additionally, there is the Blizzak LM005, a winter option, designed taking into account all specifications of the most powerful Lamborghini ever produced to operate in icy conditions.
The tire dimensions are impressive: 265/35 ZR20 in the front and 345/30 ZR21 in the rear. This results in 34.5 cm of rubber in contact with the asphalt on each rear wheel, with a load index of 111, which supports 1,090 kg per tire.
The development process utilized Virtual Tyre Development (VTD) technology, which allows simulating and testing the tire in a digital environment before producing physical prototypes. Bridgestone reports that this method eliminates the need to produce about 200 physical tires per project, reducing raw material consumption and CO2 emissions during the development phase by up to 60%.
The vehicle's requirements justify this technical effort. The Lamborghini Revuelto SV is equipped with a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine combined with three electric motors, generating 1,065 hp and 145.3 kgfm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds and exceeds the 345 km/h mark.
This is the fastest and most powerful production model ever created in Sant’Agata Bolognese, with a limited run of 1,963 units and a price exceeding 600 thousand euros, which corresponds to approximately R$ 3.6 million.
The collaboration between the two brands has been ongoing for six years. It began with the Huracán STO, evolved to the 2023 Revuelto, which was the manufacturer's first V12 hybrid, and currently also covers the Temerario and Fenomeno models.
