The Tokyo Game Show 2026 (TGS) began on Thursday, the 17th, at Makuhari Messe, located in Chiba, Japan. This event, considered one of the main international gatherings for the gaming sector, will have a five-day program, concluding on September 21st.
Brazil will also be part of this edition. Through the Brazil Games project, in collaboration with ApexBrasil, Abragames (Brazilian Association of Game Developers) will organize a delegation composed of 21 Brazilian companies and studios.
The Brazilian representatives will take advantage of the event to hold meetings and encounters with executives, publishers, and other international companies, aiming to identify new business opportunities and expand the presence of Brazilian games in the global scene.
The Tokyo Game Show, which was first held in 1996, has established itself as a major industry meeting point, bringing together independent developers, manufacturers, and major publishers, traditionally in September.
In addition to business activities, TGS offers visitors the chance to test games before release, learn about technological innovations, and follow announcements and presentations, while also featuring areas dedicated to the commercialization of game-related products.
The event venue is Makuhari Messe, in Chiba. Travel from Tokyo can be made via the JR Keiyo Line to Kaihimmakuhari station, taking about 35 minutes.
National participation will be managed by Abragames and Brazil Games. According to the organization, the agenda will include relationship-building meetings and commercial talks with international entities, with a specific focus on connecting Brazilian companies to the Asian market.
Patrícia Sato, executive manager of the Brazil Games project, emphasized that TGS is a strategic opportunity to bring Brazilian companies closer to participants from various markets and create new business chances. She added that being at the fair allows studios to present their projects, meet potential clients and partners, and strengthen their international relations.
In addition to the 21 companies physically present, Brazil Games will bring titles from nine other Brazilian studios for an action promoted by Steam during the Tokyo Game Show. These studios are: Sue The Real, Fableware, Mandinga Games, Akyoma Studios, Potato Kid, Bragi Estúdios, Coffeenauts, Aoca Game Lab, and Epopeia Games.
This presence is part of Brazil Games' strategy to internationally boost the Brazilian industry, connecting national developers with potential clients and publishers. For visiting the public, TGS 2026 serves as a showcase for what major developers and indies are preparing. For Brazilian studios, the fair reinforces Brazil's desire to gain more space in the global gaming industry.
